On March 10, 2023, a surprising agreement was reached between Iran and Saudi Arabia to restore diplomatic relations and reduce the conflict between the parties. This negotiation was concluded in the context and conditions that at the regional level, we witness the process of forming coalitions against Iran under the title of Israel normalization, the strong stance of the Chinese against Iran’s positions during their trip to the Persian Gulf’s Arab countries, the unfavorable situation of Iran social capital and Israel threatening a military attack against Iran.
But after this, there have been discussions about negotiations’ benefits and losses. American analysts say that this negotiation will endanger American hegemony in the region but it does not weaken normalization process. On the other hand, stressing the decline of America, the Iranians said that this negotiation is an excellent achievement for them and has strengthened the resistance front and weakened the Arab-Hebrew alliance against Iran, and made Saudi Arabia lean towards Iran. Saudi Arabia also believes that Iran, like Turkey, has come to Saudi Arabia for negotiation, and Saudi Arabia has benefited greatly from this. But the interesting thing to note is that the Saudi side made this offer to Iran through China at the midst of feminist protests. The Primary question of this report is the effect of this negotiation on America’s influence in the region. And also in this note, secondary questions such as 1. Examining the benefits and losses of the four countries, Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, and the United States from the aforementioned negotiation 2.Comparing the benefit and losses of these countries from the mentioned negotiation with each other. Our hypnosis is the reduction of American influence in the region due to the change in American’s foreign policy prioritization towards the Middle East and the increasing influence of great powers in this region. Also, the non-security order of West Asia is entering a phase where the role of great powers such as China in the economic order of the region will reach the same level as the United States.
